The annual registration fee of $75 is not the only cost to participate. Besides that fee,
each campout has a registration fee, which covers the overnight camping fee for the various
state parks that we utilize. Also, each vehicle is charged an admission fee by the Texas
Parks & Wildlife Dept., so that must be paid. Finally, food and extra activities involve additional
out-of-pocket expenses during the weekend.
Typically, the camping fees are about $20, slightly more if
you tow a trailer, and the camp entrance fees are $5 or less.
The Camp Cullen outing is a trip to a YMCA-run camp on the shores of Lake Livingston. As such,
we stay in cabins, eat in a dining hall, and also have the chance to participate in numerous
extra activities. Therefore, this trip is more expensive than the others.
